Barloworld Equipment has the exclusive Southern African distribution rights for Atlas Copco’s Rotary Blasthole drills. The agreement was initially concluded with Ingersoll-Rand, which sold its drilling solutions business to Atlas Copco in mid-2004.
Atlas Copco’s Pit Viper range has found many applications on Southern African mines. The Pit Viper 351 is the world’s most powerful and advanced rotary drill and the newer 270 series, replacing the old DM-M2, incorporates a PV 271 single pass machine for metals and diamond mining applications and the PV 275, a 270mm diameter multipass rotary drill for coal overburden and other mining applications.
